At Rural Retreats, we can proudly say that each of our stunning properties has been handpicked to ensure you're staying in absolute luxury. The portfolio includes a wonderful range of properties of all shapes and sizes and there are some real unusual ones in the mix.
Weston Park is an incredible country house set in more than 1,000 acres of splendid Shropshire parkland. It was landscaped by the famous Capability Brown and is a wonderful area to explore, with a variety of things to see and do, beautiful vistas, lakes, footpaths and natural areas.
The gardens and house itself are open to the public only certain times of the year. But there are five exquisite holiday properties located throughout the grounds that you can stay in. From these properties you have access to all of the beautiful surroundings: the deer park and Temple Wood, formal gardens and the walled garden, children’s area and the estate’s visitor areas.
So where can you stay?
The huge Weston Park house itself is a magnificent property for a large group and a special occasion. It can host up to 54 guests in 24 magnificent en suite bedrooms. The house sits at the centre of the estate overlooking formal gardens and with a view out over the parkland. Not only is this luxurious accommodation, but you can also enjoy award-winning cuisine and a fully-staffed service.
Having been bequeathed by the 7th Earl of Bradford in 1986, Weston Park is now protected by the National Heritage Memorial Fund and the Weston Park Foundation. It's wonderfully grand and makes for an excellent venue for huge gatherings.

Sitting on the fringe of Temple wood, the Temple of Diana is a little wander from the mansion house. Built in the 1760s, this interesting property was originally a garden building. What was once an orangery now houses the stunning 3-bay glazed dining area, and the old circular tea room is now a pretty sitting room. It accommodates 6 guests, so it’s a good one for families.

If it’s a retreat for two that you’re after, the Knoll Tower is a picturesque, transformed Victorian hunting lodge. Set over three floors, this quirky little home is located on the far side of the estate. There is a little roof terrace with views out over the surroundings and instant access to the parkland.

Refurbished to a really high standard, this potting shed in the garden now has bright, modern interiors. Similar to the Gardener’s Bothy (below), you’ll enter through large glazed doors and the living area is a lovely open-plan space. You have easy access to both the historic walled garden and to the Granary Grill if you fancy grabbing a bite to eat. A hidden door into the grounds ensures you get direct access to all the best areas.

Next to the Potting Shed is the Gardener’s Bothy. Both these properties can accommodate 2 guests each, so they have a really spacious feel to them. Out the front you’ll have a huge area to sit out and enjoy. Inside, the cottage has a warm country theme with exposed brickwork and homely details. Both the Bothy and the Potting Shed have a lovely wood burning stove for you to make use of during your stay.

If you do come along to stay at any of the five properties, don’t miss out on the opportunity to stop in at the other visitor buildings. Close to the main house, a number of the estate’s other old buildings have been transformed into the Granary Deli and Café, the Stables Activities Centre and the Granary Art Gallery.
