Superb location. Ideal for walking the coast path & watching wildlife. Very quiet. The only things that let it down was the poor welcome pack & the lack of essentials such as dishwasher tablets (none) and toilet rolls ( 4 very small poor quality rolls) We had to take our own duvet & pillows as those supplied were feather filled. No good if you have a feather allergy or are vegan. The location makes up for these issues but it could so easily be better. Weather was superb.

Amazing private peaceful location. Parking provided in national trust car park with permit provided. Steep walk down to lighthouse and cottage but well worth the effort if you are able. Make shure you bring plenty of provisions as it's rather isolated and a good drive away should you need supplies. Cottage very warm and welcoming and extremely clean. Housekeeper was very helpfull when arranging key collection. All in all it was a great experience in that you can stay a week without having to move the car with scenic walks on your door step. Will definetly have to return some day.

Its a very special place to stay and we loved the location and the high quality of the internal accomondation. Given the cost it was disappointing that the wonderful 'hamper' of food and drink has been cut to the basics. And also the outside furtniture is very poor (rotton wood) and needs replaying urgently. The padlock on the front gate was very fiddly to open - especially in the dark and the rain! Overall we would definitely recommend this unique place to stay.

Great location, this is our 3rd time we have stayed here. Love the isolation of the cottage. I run a holiday cottage myself. Sally Port is well presented. My only criticism would be (this is for your benefit really) was the fact there was no mattress protector on the double bed and no pillow case protectors. Mattresses are very expensive to replace and with the location of the cottage it would be a difficult job. For hygiene reasons there should be pillow protectors also. Also, again for your benefit, the heated towel rails are so easily left on. We have fitted timers to ours, it would be worthwhile getting an electrician in to do this.

Cottage was truly stunning. Comfortable, spacious, clean and with everything you need. It is of course isolated so to have those home comforts was great. Having access to the observation room and the small garden was wonderful and easy access to the beach a 10 minute walk along the coastal path was fabulous. Do be prepared for the foghorn going off (earplugs provided!) but even that felt part of the adventure and you soon become accustomed. A wonderful relaxing holiday venue.

An amazing experience staying at the lighthouse cottage, unique and with amazing views. Everything was clean and furniture inside was lovely. Toiletries were a nice touch and the welcome basket. However for the amount of money people are paying there are some things that need to be improved, particularly the garden furniture which was old and one of the seats was broken, and the bench seat in the garden is broken. So needs to be a better standard, with a heavy duty sun parasol, and maybe some sun loungers so people can really take advantage of the lovely garden. TV was far too small. Also some general upkeep issues like the toilet seat in the shower room was discoloured underneath and one of the rubber feet was missing. Appreciate its an old cottage with character features but the windows were very difficult to open, my husband had to go outside and stand on a chair in order to push open the kitchen window! No fan provided. Only other comment was that on numerous occasions we did catch people trying to enter by climbing over the garden fence, even though the padlock was in place and it was clearly private. So perhaps a better sign , or higher fence would help?
