The house is lovely and quirky, plenty of space, nice features, well decorated. I can't give it 5 stars though due to a couple of things. Firstly when we arrived, the lock box to get the keys wouldn't work. The housekeeper, Michael, came out and let us in and managed to repair it. Secondly, on the second night, we wanted to use the hot tub. The lights over the tub were not on. I sent Michael a text, he said they should be on as they work on a timer but that I could turn them on outside which I did. We then noticed that the hot tub wasn't very warm and the control panel was completely off. I contacted Michael again who said it was likely there had been a power cut which was disappointing. Yes very disappointing especially as there was no apology. I said I hoped it was an easy fix and he said that it was a simple reset but would take 8 hours to come back up to temperature. One of the reasons we booked the house was for the hot tub. We wouldn't have minded if we had received an apology but none came. It sadly blighted what had been a lovely stay. I would recommend the house though another bathroom or a better 2nd shower rather than one you hold over the bath would probably be more practical.

Had a fantastic stay at Pillar Box House. Beautiful property with everything you need to make it the perfect home from home. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and the dogs weren’t left out with treats for them too. We loved the hot tub after a long day out and also cosying up next to the log fire. The cottage is in a great spot near to Norwich and the Norfolk Broads. The house has lots of quirky little rooms and it was spacious and spotlessly clean. All in all a perfect stay.

Lovely house, quirky and well decorated. We loved how well equipped it was, especially the kitchen and the log fires. Loved the Christmas decorations. Beautiful details and furniture. Comfortable beds. Nice touch with the hamper. The wifi was essential considering the lack of phone signal. We needed more information about how things worked and the local area. For example, we had to search the internet for instructions for the range cooker as these were not provided. We struggled to find the light switches for the hot tub area. We would have loved to do some local walks, but all the information provided focused on “Norfolk Hideaways “ properties in North Norfolk and not local to Wymondham area. The road noise was also very loud at night in some bedrooms. The fridge leaked in the evening (we informed the owner.) Overall though, a brilliant property and perfect for our family Christmas celebrations.

What a wonderful , well appointed, charming , beautiful house in a lovely part of the country . Plenty of room . Great hot tub . Lots of personal touches. Was great to cook in the kitchen . Relax outside or in the lounges. Bedrooms were beautifully done . We were 7 girlfriends having a get together . So easy to book . Good communication. Clean & the lovely basket 🧺 of goodies was a lovely touch. Thank you x

Pillar Box House had just the right amount of space as was needed and was wonderfully cozy for the chilly evenings. The suggestions we have for improvement are relatively minor: 1. the loo seat upstairs kept falling off its pegs, 2. the anteroom to the shower could have done with a curtain that could be drawn across it to give privacy, 3. the lighting over the kitchen table could do with improvement. Though there were two 3 candle candlesticks, one was unusable because it tilted and the only candles around were v. short candle stubs. We were able to buy tea lights the following day so the problem was resolved by the second evening. On the whole, we had a lovely family stay.
