Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous location. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. The area around Castle Howard is fabulous with lots of lovely walks on the estate and a great farm shop and cafe,

Excellent location and a comfortable, warm and well equipped cottage. You just have to mind your head with the low doorways and ceiling beams, but these go with the territory.

Clean, well presented and well equipped cottage. Gorgeous, quiet location in charming village with plenty walks from the doorstep. High quality duvet, bed linen and toiletries much appreciated. Luxury hamper on arrival and loved the warmth from the log burning stoves. Enjoyed all our visits to Castle Howard and eating at local pubs - will definitely be returning later this year!

Great Cottage and Coneysthorpe is a great spot , nice and quiet, just wondered was this the actual Librarians cottage ? Ideally situated between York and Whitby, great walks on your doorstep too. Our two Lurchers loved it as well! welcome hamper very extravagant and 'Doggie' welcome treats enjoyed...….

We very much enjoyed our week at the cottage. We even coped well with the very varied head heights for the doors! We appreciated the inclusive access to Castle Howard Estate which we used on three separate occasions. We also very much enjoyed the welcome pack. Thank you for this.

Fabulous Cottage. Beautifully furnished, very comfortable beds with lovely linen and great toiletries. We will definitely recommend the cottage and Rural Retreats.

We loved this cosy cottage in an Estate village where we stayed over Easter.The hamper was the best we've ever had in a Rural Retreat cottage. Real attention to detail and produce from the lovely Estate shop. Also, beds and bedlinen so comfortable, which isn't alway the case in a holiday let. There were a few things missing but our request was dealt with very quickly by the Estate.

Lovely cottage with character, in a beautiful environment. The cottage was very well managed and comfortable, and we particularly appreciated the welcome hamper and fresh flowers. The location is good for a number of excursions to the North York Moors, Dales or East Yorkshire coast, and the local area has lots to offer. We are definitely considering a return trip.

We had a fabulous time at the Librarian's Cottage! It was so charming and the little village delightful. We so appreciated how well stocked it was; the hamper was a welcome to some weary travelers as were the lovely the toiletries. I hope we can return for a longer stay at some point. We did not get to see all of that lovely area or spend nearly enough time enjoying the beautiful Castle Howard.

An excellent cottage in its original layout with all the modern conveniences. Perfect for us to experience a quintessential English home with lots of character. Great quiet location close to Castle Howard with lovely neighbours.

Lovely cottage and would 100% go back.

Very comfortable and generally well-equipped. But we would have liked a warning about the low beams given that one of us is 6' 3" and kept banging his head. We were also surprised there was no can opener, no water jug, no spare kitchen roll and not enough kindling and fire lighters for the logs that were provided.

Needs another proper comfortable chair. Windows don’t open could be a fire risk. Beds very very comfortable.

My wife spoke to one of your staff about the fact that the kitchen equipement was deficient, andthe fact that neither bathroom doorf could be locked.
