Very nice house, plenty of glasses and crockery for our many guests and a well received welcome hamper

Great, well appointed cottage, good size and plenty of space. Off street parking for 1 car very useful .!”nice and cost and came with an extensive welcome pack. Coffee shop opposite very convenient as is the small grocery shop a few hundred feet away. Would be ver comfortable recommending a stay here and would rerun too.

The house was perfect for our stay for our son's wedding. Spotlessly clean, well equipped and brilliant location. Hopefully we will be able to stay again.

Very comfortable and well equipped property. It is well located and you can easily drive to Fountains Abbey from here. We also drove over to Whitby - about an hour's drive across the moors - very picturesque. The local pub did really good meals.

Prospect House is a fab home to stay in. Quality throughout and lovely design. Very well thought through from a visitor perspective too. Easy check in and communications with Rural Retreats. We had a great time. Loved the area too. So much to see and do. No shortage of good restaurants and shops in the area either. Thoroughly recommended.

Great house, good condition, very suited to our needs as a family get together. Ampleforth good place to holiday from with two different but good pubs, local shop.

Lovely spacious house, thoughtfully equipped. In a great position for walking, with pubs, village shop and coffee house all within a minute’s walk.

Excellent house and location, had stayed there before so that is why we chose the property.

property is very nice but we found it not well cleaned from the previous holiday makers. it was a little dirty and grubby.Parking is a nightmare we had 3 cars with us and there is very little road parking spaces. you park on the road- but if you park in a "locals spot" expect some abuse! Very nice coffee tea shop opposite

We loved Prospect House. Tastefully presented and very well equipped. It being decorated for Christmas with log fires ready to light made it even more special. We’ll be back !

Lovely property. Fantastic hamper with local produce with all you need for a couple of days. Beds and linen can easily compete with 5-star hotels.

A beautifully house in a lovely location, everything was top quality and nothing had not been thought of, the welcome cake and bread were delicious, 2 wonderful village pubs and lovely dog walks , just perfect, would highly recommend.

Lovely property. Great location and everything internally done to a high standard. It’s also the small things that take away annoyance- dish washing tablets, clean cloths/sponges etc that mean you can just turn up. The welcome hamper was amazing and the fruit cake was delicious. Spacious, well equipped, clean house with attractive original features and good views across the valley below. The shared bathroom does not have a separate shower; some of our party used the en-suite showers in the other rooms.
