We really enjoyed staying at Corridow. It is the perfect place to get away from city life with the most amazing views. The property is finished to a high standard and had everything we needed and more. The thoughtful welcome basket contained essentials plus a lovely range of treats. The owners live 1km away on the working farm and they were really friendly and welcoming, but you really do have a quiet place to yourself at Corridow cottage. Aside from the local sheep who are kept in line by the skilled farmer and sheepdogs. There are pretty walks along surprisingly quiet local roads, with a good shop and cafe 4 miles away in Moniaive. We had a lovely, relaxing holiday and hope to return.

Our New Year break at Corriedow Cottage was a brilliant escape into the heart of picturesque countryside. The cottage, perfectly located for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty, provided a perfect base for exploring the Southern Uplands and the Nith Valley. Situated just 3 miles from the charming village of Tynron, Corriedow offers a peaceful retreat, while the nearby Moniaive, approximately 4 miles away, and Thornhill, around 8 miles distant, provide convenient access to various local amenities. Our stay at Corriedow was made that bit more special by the hospitality of owners Lynne and Alex. The festive spirit was obvious throughout the cottage, with the tasteful Christmas decorations that adorned every corner. The effort they put into creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere did not go unnoticed, enhancing the overall festive experience. A highlight of our stay was the incredible festive hamper provided by Lynne and Alex. Bursting with delightful treats, the hamper featured an array of biscuits, popcorn, and a carefully selected bottle of whisky, among other delights. It was a thoughtful touch that added an extra layer of warmth and indulgence to our New Year celebrations. As we explored the rolling hills of the Southern Uplands and strolled along the river in the Nith Valley, Corriedow became not just a holiday home but a welcoming haven. The combination of breathtaking natural surroundings, convenient access to local amenities, and the warm hospitality of Lynne and Alex made our New Year break at Corriedow Cottage a truly great experience. Corriedow is an absolute gem! Set in peaceful surroundings, the cottage has been beautiful curated to provide everything you could possibly want for a restful and luxurious escape to the country. We were looking for somewhere not too far from home, to rest and recharge after a stressful few weeks of work, and Corriedow more than met our expectations. From the wonderful luxury welcome hamper, to the gorgeous yet comfortable interiors, everything had been thought of, and provided to make our stay memorable, welcoming and comfortable. At just 90 minutes drive away this is going to be our new bolt hole in the country! Thank you Lynn! Your care and attention to detail and for our every comfort was very much appreciated . We had a wonderful stay, can't recommend Corriedow highly enough, and are looking forward to our next visit!

The welcome we received from Lynne and family was exceptional, unsurpassed by any we've experienced in our many years of self catering. Corriedow was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and extremely well equipped. All the finishing touches were so thoughtful and much appreciated. Its beautiful setting was secluded and peaceful but within close proximity of many tourist attractions within the region - perfect!

THE BEST cottage we have ever stayed in, a beautiful house in an amazing location. Lynne is a great host, she went above and beyond to look after us and made sure we were happy. When we arrived the cottage was nice and cosy, candles were lit and the extremely generous welcome hamper was just lovely. We felt home straightaway. Everything was just perfect! Just wonderful. Without doubt the best holiday cottage I've stayed in. Lynne is the dream host. The cottage is beautiful and it was a wrench to tear ourselves away from the incredible view. Very well equipped with everything from tupperware to washing machine. True isolation but only a short drive from great things to see and do like drumlanrig Castle (a true hidden gem) biking at forest of ae and delicious food in Thornhill. Im reluctant to leave this review as dont want others to know about this marvellous place. If you're not sure whether to book it...let me help you out...book it. You won't regret it.

Corriedow is a wonderful place. It looks down a beautiful valley and you are surrounded by fabulous views all around. The house is very tastefully furnished in contemporary style and every convenience is available (including excellent internet connection) to make for a very comfortable stay. Our hosts were so friendly and helpful and the generous welcome pack, bouquet of flowers and gently flickering candles on arrival were one of the many little touches that made our stay so special. We did numerous walks and cycle rides from the front door. Each day we would walk or ride for miles in the spectacular, very picturesque and empty countryside . There are also excellent places to visit nearby including the galleries and museums of Kirkcudbright, Drumlanrig Castle and Gardens and Crawick Multiverse. Just 15 minutes away in the nearby village of Moniaive there is also the extra bonus of an excellent Italian restaurant. So, if like us, you want peace, quiet, beautiful surroundings, luxurious accommodation, helpful and knowledgeable hosts, we thoroughly recommend Corriedow ….and Tesco can even deliver to your door!
