The cottage was very comfortable and to the usual quality we have come to expect from Rural Retreats. It was set in a lovely rural location and had a real hideaway feel about it. Great walks straight from the cottage and lots to do in the area. The only reason I have deducted a star is that the housekeeping wasn't quite as spot on as previous Rural Retreat cottages and we felt its location at the end of a long, single track, steep and winding road with only a few passing places, should have been emphasised more in the information prior to booking. We were glad we had arrived in daylight!!

Friday travel on the roads is horrendous and we had 2 journeys up and back that were truly awful. The journey home to Somerset took 10 hours! and threatened to negate what had been a superb holiday. There were 4 sheep in the field in front of the house which meant the boys couldn't play with the dog out front. Lastly there were no tea bags in our hamper. However the cottage was perfect and we enjoyed climbing Snowdon, walking in the Bodnant garden and Zip World.

Lovely remote location, cottage was very comfortable and we soon settled in. The upstairs toilet stopped working part way through the holiday but it was soon fixed. We struggled with the log burner as it kept going out which was a shame and had to buy some logs as the initial supply was limited and we could not get in touch with housekeeping due to the New Year holiday. We will definitely be back as the area is beautiful and we loved the estate, particularly the gardens and the food shop.

Lovely cottage and location, as we have come to expect from Rural Retreats. Just two minor comments: (1) the food hamper was smaller and more limited than we have had in other Rural Retreats properties, (2) the lighting in the lounge area was very dim, making it impossible to read there in the evenings even with all the lights on - to read anything we had to go into the kitchen where the lights are much brighter!
