Things to do in the UK: Best Beaches in Lincolnshire

With a long coastline, running 50 miles along the North Sea coast, it’s not surprising
that Lincolnshire boasts an array of beautiful beaches to explore.

As well as being home to some of the UK’s most iconic, traditional seaside towns, the area also has plenty of quieter, more remote beaches. So, whether you’re looking for a fun-filled day out for all the family or a peaceful spot to get away from it all, Lincolnshire will have the perfect beach for you.

Best Beaches in Lincolnshire
Whether you’re looking for a dog-friendly beach, a seaside pot for family fun, or even a nudist beach, here’s our roundup of the best beaches in Lincolnshire.

Chapel Point
This wide, sandy beach is a great spot for walking and surfing. Once part of the coastal defence line during the Second World War, today the beach has been restored and developed.

As well as miles of sand, the beach is also home to traditional seaside huts and the
impressive North Sea Observatory - the UK’s only marine observatory.

Located in Chapel St Leonards, the beach is equipped with a wide range of amenities, including a café, baby changing facilities, parking, and toilets. Dogs are welcome on the beach all year round with no restrictions.

Anderby Creek
Located just 4km to the north of Chapel St Leonards, Anderby Creek is a beautiful
stretch of sandy beach backed by dramatic dunes.

Quieter than many of the other beaches in the area, Anderby is a great spot for walking and exploring the impressive coastline. The beach is also home to an official cloud spotting area, recognised by the Cloud Appreciation Society.

Mablethorpe Beach
This traditional seaside resort is home to soft golden sands, donkey rides, a fairground, cafes, fish and chips, and so much more. The perfect spot for a family day out on the Lincolnshire coast, the beach has gentle waves and a lifeguard patrol, making it ideal for watersports including swimming, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, and more.

The far end of the beach is quieter than the busy main stretch and allows dogs all year round, while the main part is dog-free between 1 May and 30 September.

Pay and display parking is available close to the beach. Use postcode LN12 1AA.

Cleethorpes Beach
Cleethorpes is another traditional seaside resort with a sandy beach stretching for
miles, as well as a host of amenities, including donkey rides, a boating lake, a paddling pool, and a promenade.

The beach offers good parking, beach huts, deck chair hire, pedalos, toilets, and
disabled access. Dogs are not permitted on the beach between Easter and October.

Chapel St Leonards Beach
This sand and shingle beach is a popular place for families and those looking for an
enjoyable day out along the Lincolnshire coast.

A promenade runs alongside the beach and is home to a pub. Chapel St Leonards
offers a range of amenities, including toilets, restaurants, shops, pubs, and places to
stay, as well as resort-style attractions such as crazy golf, play areas, and amusement arcades.

There are a number of small car parks a short walk from the beach in Chapel St
Leonards. Dogs are banned from the central beach area between 1 to 30th September, however, the rest of the beach is open to dogs all year round.
